I Managed to Find a Way...

Yes I finally did it! I figured out how to turn what SOUNDS like it would be a healthy dinner into something that is akin to eating a bowl of bacon bits - but MY GOD this is yummy!!!

TAH DAH! CRISPY DUCK SALAD!

I realize that many of you thought it couldn't be done...and are currently in awe of my skills, but let this be a valuable lesson to you: NEVER doubt my ability to find some sort of fattening option to what would normally be good for you! Seriously, if you haven't done so, you have GOT to try this. Crispy Duck Salad ROCKS, and yet contains no lettuce or any other item that may be classified as "healthy" (except maybe the celery part - but I figured that was just garnish and picked that crap out). Apparently, in Thai culture (which is sooooo much better than our own) they place the salad UNDER the cabbage bowl, so as not to taint your crispity goodness with its greenery.

Next to the Belgiums and their Chocolates, I got to give Thai Culture snaps for their ability to redefine "salad" into something waaaay yummier than what we have.

Lettuce is for Losers.

Like me with taco salads! I make them about as heathy as chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream! Take that Eileen and Darsden!!!

And it can carry E. Coli. bacteria, as the rest of the greens in the salad bowl. Unless you know where they came from, avoid raw greens.

I am confused...

YOU COOKED!!!

How did the other commenters miss that this is very very odd?? What's the deal???

I'm so laughing at Hit 40. No way did you cook! No way! And Mrs. K? No worries. Michel isn't going to cook anything for you if you meet her! You're going to meet her at a restaurant and she's going to steal food off of your plate so long as you don't order anything healthy, like lettuce.

You totally got that at a restaurant, didn't you?

Hey! Where's Dar? Did the earth open up and swallow her whole?

I can't believe I beat Dar anywhere... As for the duck, you can have mine. As for the healthy food groups... are you kidding? I was raised in Oklahoma back when we didn't know fried foods and gravy were bad for you. Michel, if we have to die from something, it won't be from getting choked on a lettuce leaf.

I'm assuming that's not a real duck. Because you wouldn't, would you? I know the Thais would. But you, Michel, wouldn't. Why? One word:

Smotable.

Did you cook this? Can you post the recipe?

It's been ages since I've been to a Thai restaurant, but we never ordered Duck. I bet this is amazing.

You didn't actually cook this, right? I just assumed you ordered 17 boxes of takeout and put it in a bowl...Right? It looks good, but I would only eat it if "duck" meant "chicken".

What does it say about me that I actually LIKE lettuce? And for some reason, I am feeling sorry for ducks.

No duck for me - Thai hurts me, too. I like Chinese and Japanese, but something about Thai does not like me . . .
