We've Been Doing Some Travelin....

So I'm pretty much going to pull a lazy (naturally) and just post the pics....(because that's how I roll....)
We went up to Moroe, in North Sudan.  There are pyramids and (my favorite) camels....although, they're kinda creepy and smelly...not so hygienic...

I can only assume they had some kinda iPod that had "YMCA" Playing....

Joe's head...he kinda looks fake, doesn't he?

Joe thinks this is his better side....

I'm not sure anymore why this is cool, but it was for some reason....if you guys can figure it out, feel free to let me know....

Although the little guy on the side looks like he might be al-Qa'ida, he's not...he's just cranky....(I asked...)

Sudanese Truck stop hotel.  Bucket is some water for you.....

 Joe's Friends.....

Waiting patiently to get going - although it looks like it is really hot there in Sharm, it was actually pretty chilly!

This is the Ritz Carlton hotel in Sharm al-Shaykh, Egypt.  Little known fact, cost of a room at Ritz in Sharm $160 per night.  Cost of dinner with bottle of wine $160.

I'm not sure exactly WHERE this was, but it was taken from the boat in the Red Sea....

Coastline (I'm not sure which one was Sinai, I wasn't paying attention when they went over the historical crap - I was just excited to go diving....

So there you have it...10 days of travel in less than 10 pics...we had fun and did some neat things, but I forget now what that was.....

At least you have the pictures to prove to yourself that you were actually there and it wasn't all a drug/alcohol induced dream.

You live a most interesting life, I must say. I don't know if you've ever blogged about it, but I would love to hear how you got to work for the State Dept. If you did blog about it, you can just give me the link!

I'm so jealous. My version of sightseeing is the trip between Wal-Mart and Target when I can't get everything I need at one place.

Glad you're back. I need some laughter. Can you provide that PLEASE?

The reason you took the photo of the blocks is because you couldn't freakin' believe how much sand can accumulate UNDER the roof of a block building.

And, how come the Red Sea is blue?

That place looks AMAZING! Wish I could go there someday :)

Absolutely gorgeous photo closeup of the camel and his red blanket-gear. Did he ever spit? I heard camels spit...

There's a clip on YouTube of a camel being ridden in an arena and it's doing dressage movements. Wild... Personally, I don't like creatures who looks down their nose at me.

Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Jason, as himself said...

Yeah, I went on this same trip a couple weeks ago.

You went to Sharm El Sheikh! Now that's something I truly miss about living in Egypt, being able to hop down to the Red Sea and totally relax!

Are you barefoot in that photo... or are you just wearing really skinny sandals?

The desert over there is so much more desolate than the US. Just sad.

Loved the Red Sea.

The one you don't remember why it was "cool"?
a) because there are neat patterns or writing (or maybe it's just graffiti) on the walls and
b) you finally found all the dirt they stole off your roof!

Glad you're back! :)

Super pictures. Maybe that enclosed space was a bathroom. Just cover with sand?

I was just thinking about you today and I was going to email you to see if you were dead. I'm glad you're not. Really.

Great pix but... those are dromedaries, camels have TWO humps... but I know that's kinda close to math so it's okay.
Also... was that one pic a mastaba? could have been? I was in some in egypt waaaay long ago.

glad you're home. get crackin little girl
